Committee News

A club is only as strong as its members! The support of club members is not only a requirement of increasing the strength of any club – but a sign of growth. Different people coming together to share their talents and their expertise is invaluable if one is to grow- not only as a club- but also as individuals dedicated to their breed.

Anti-Dog Legislation
"The bottom line is that people don't have the right to manipulate or to breed dogs and cats... If people want toys, they should buy inanimate objects. If they want companionship, they should seek it with their own kind."
(Ingrid Newkirk, PETA)

"...One generation and out. We have no problem with the extinction of domestic animals. They are creations of human selective breeding."
(Wayne Pacelle, CEO HSUS)
Across our country a well-planned, extremely well funded, and exceptionally well-thought out plot has been growing for the past twenty or so years! People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) are two of the wealthiest, best known names, amongst other groups that are accomplishing a 12-Step Program to eliminate pet ownership.

How?

By getting legislators to propose and pass anti-dog legislation! By passing Breed Specific Legislation (BSL)! By putting regulations and restrictions on breeders! By mandating spay and neutering of all puppies and dogs! By initiating huge differences in licensing neutered animals and intact animals. By passing ordinances and local laws stating how much a dog may weigh in order to live in a neighborhood! By exposing JQ Public to propaganda against all commercial breeders! By having rescue groups/ animal shelters turn against "breeders"!

How has this happened?

Well, for starters, many people have been unaware of what has been going on. Many refuse to believe that this could ever happen here in the land of the free. Many feel that it happens to the "other guy'- it doesn't involve "us". Sadly, some people couldn't care less!

The days of leaving it to someone else to stand up for your Constitutional rights are over - we are losing more of our "rights" every day!

Have you noticed the increase in proposed legislation? Have you seen the increase in BSL? What about the anti-tethering laws? One anti-tethering law just passed in Texas stating that you can not tie your dog up unless you are supervising him/her.

What about the push to change the terminology of ownership to guardianship?

You may "feel" better by stating you are the guardian of your beloved pet. You may "feel" better thinking that your pet is not the same as your personal property - BUT- you have legal protection for your "property" as stated in our Constitution. If you give up your ownership - who is there to supervise your "guardianship". What if someone disagrees with a decision you make about the care of your pet? Who gets to make the final decisions?

Lately, zoos and circuses have been under attack. Where will it all end? "...one generation and out."

What is the Difference Between Animal Rights and Animal Welfare?

ANIMAL RIGHTS is about a group of people whose whole aim in life is to prevent you from owning ANY animal, ANYTIME and ANYWhere. They appear as organizations that are there to help people and their animals - but if you do your research - you will find that this helpful appearance is nothing but a facade to achieve their whole purpose. Did you know that HSUS is under FBI investigation for not fulfilling their pledge of donations to help Katrina rescues? How about the fact that all the monies donated to help out the surviviors of the Vick incident never went to help out the dogs involved. Don't believe it? Check it out.

ANIMAL WELFARE is about the proper care and treatment of all animals. These groups accomplish this while leaving your constitutional rights alone. Laws already in existence are encouraged to be enforced.

The danger of confusing the two is understandable. AR's use people's sense of responsibility and love towards animals as a hook, to get support, to help spread their intentions. This makes it all the more critical to do research before becoming involved!

12 Steps of the Animal Rights Agenda
1.
Abolish by law all animal research. (There would be no cures for AIDS, cancer, heart disease, etc., and testing of new drugs would be done on humans, or not at all.)
2.
Outlaw the use of animals for cosmetic and product testing, and classroom demonstration (physicians would perform their first surgeries and procedures on humans without any previous experience).
3. Vegetarian meals should be at all public institutions, including schools.
4.
Eliminate all animal agriculture (resulting in no milk, eggs, chicken, fish, or meat for food, no leather for shoes or clothing). How many foods contain eggs or dairy products, or a derivative of the same? It's possible that a computer keyboard and mouse might have been made with animal products!
5.
Eliminate all herbicides, pesticides or other agricultural chemicals. Outlaw predator control.(Farmers would not be able to produce as much food as they do now, driving the cost of living up, and eliminating the export of food to hungry nations. Animals such as coyotes are already a problem in some areas, coming into yards to eat garbage and prey upon outdoor pets.)
6.
Transfer enforcement of animal welfare legislation away from the Department of Agriculture. (Animal issues would be controlled by those people with little or no experience in customary animal husbandry.)
7. Eliminate fur ranching and the use of furs.
8. Prohibit hunting, trapping and fishing.
9. End the international trade in wildlife goods.
10.
Stop any further breeding of companion animals, including purebred dogs and cats. State and municipal governments should subsidize spaying and neutering until all companion animals are extinct. Abolish commerce in animals for the pet trade. Eliminate pet ownership.
11.
End the use of animals in entertainment and sports (resulting in no horse shows, cat or dog shows, animal actors, rodeos, animal movie stars).
12.
Prohibit the genetic manipulation of the species (resulting in the elimination of critical medical research relating to Cancer, AIDS and other life threatening diseases, as well as crop production improvements such as the difference between the Holstein and the Angus, and eliminate all pedigreed animals, etc... ).
